Upon searching for a low-key experience in 2018 we came across a new venue in Boracay called The Lind. A 5-star lifestyle hotel with a boutique aesthetic, that was located at the exclusive end of White Beach’s Station 1.

The Look:

The Lind Boracay is designed for the contemporary traveler, which perfectly suited our appeal. Each of the 120 rooms opens up to a view of either the beach or the gardens with 10 of the rooms, all three specialty suites, and the Presidential Suite with their own private pools. We opted for the Sea Room (46 m²/495 ft²)  located on the 4th floor and were not disappointed by the unrestricted spectrum of blue ocean and daily sunsets.

The aesthetic is a unique appeal of modern elegance and the shades of white and blue with green lush in every direction can only reinforce a cozy ambience of a true holiday feel. The resort is big enough to exude a sense of privacy but intimate enough to not feel isolated. The biggest surprise and one of the greatest appeals of our stay was the beautiful infinitely pool overlooking White Beach where we ended up spending most of our time. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the beach which offers a  variety of local activities such as ‘sunset boating’. White Beach is a long beach that extends along the coastline of Boracay. The sand is cream coloured and powder soft and superbly clean, and the water is warm and clear. The hotel has lounge and deck chairs set up in a private section of the beach with plenty of staff that are very accommodating.

Overall each member of staff we met at The Lind was a delight. Passionate, always smiling and ready-to help in true Filipino hospitality added great warmth to our stay. The journey from the airport to the boat transit and drive to the hotel was seamless, professional and friendly, with complete attention to detail of each passenger. In-house guests enjoy daily refreshments and treats as well as complimentary locally-sourced snacks. The greatest appeal was the use of glass bottles for drinking water instead of endless plastic – mega plus point!  Each room, studio or suite features a flat-screen TV, a personal safe and a minibar. The balcony offers sea, pool or garden views, while the bathroom offers shower facilities, toiletries and a hairdryer. WiFi is free. There is also a fitness centre, a kid’s club and a gift shop. Staff at the 24-hour front desk can assist with laundry and room service.

The Location:

We enjoyed that The Lind is location in the quieter area of  Station 1 instead of the hustle and bustle of station 2. There is a true vibe of coastal living and just enough serenity.  The hotel is a 10-minute walk from D’Mall Boracay, the hub of restaurants and bars and shuttles travel back and forth from the hotel at hourly intervals.  We were able to book activities such as parasailing and jet skiing with the hotel directly. They made all the arrangements for us to be picked up and driven to the activities zone which is around 10 minutes away.

The Food:

Even though Boracay is practically surrounded by local dining hot spots, there’s no reason not to spend a day just checking out the restaurants within the hotel. The appeal is comfort holiday food which a chefs twist. The two main restaurants are Tartine and Crust where it is likely that every taste is catered for. Live music is played during the evenings which sets the tone to complement each relaxing day.

All-day dining is easy straightforward food at Tartine. A vast menu that specializes in open-faced sandwiches and an array of feel-good dishes. Breakfast opens here at 6:30 am and features a wide-range of international-asian based flavours.

Crust specializes in over the counter wood-fire oven pizzas with an updated beach cuisine and is the cool hang-out spot for dining during the day until evening.

In the evenings +36, named after the area code of Boracay is The Lind’s lounge and bar for perfect cocktails, food, snacks and art. Every corner of this space has been artfully constructed with paintings and furniture that looks like it was taken right out of the MOMA.

The Spa:

The Spa offer a ranges of treatments that are cater to guests’ different needs each to satisfy relaxation and rejuvenation.  We has the pleasure of experiencing a 60 minute Combination Massage. Although the Spa was a perfect venue we opted to enjoy our session on the open deck by the infinity pool which was a real delight. The massage was excellent – one of the best I have had in Asia, and the efficiency and flexibility of the staff is a delight.

Overall:

The Lind was the perfect venue for privacy, relaxation and the blend between resort luxury and beach life without ever leaving the hotel. Whether we were basking next to the infinity and beach level pools, indulging in wellness treatments or enjoying stunning sunsets from our balcony. The Lind is  highly recommended getaway for couples and families alike.
