As summer is right around the corner we all want to loose those extra pounds…enter Cambridge Weight Plan. The Cambridge plan is a meal replacement program that substitutes your daily meals with either soups, shakes, meals, bars or porridges of your choice. All of the Cambridge sachets are nutritionally balanced, ensuring that on the plan you’re still getting all the minerals and vitamins you need. On the plan you are not allowed any carbohydrates or alcohol as it aims to lure your body into ketosis – a process where the body starts to burn off your stored fat, allowing you to loose weight faster.

You may think that repeatedly having sachets as meal might be a little boring but Cambridge offers a wide variety of flavours for each! Their shakes come in Banana, Butterscotch, Cappuccino*, Chocolate*, Chocolate Mint, Chocolate Orange*, Mango, Fruits of the Forest, Key Lime Pie, Strawberry, Toffee and Walnut, Vanilla*, Soup flavours include Chicken and Mushroom, Leek and Potato*, Mushroom*, Oriental Chilli, Tomato and Basil, and Vegetable. The packets are all low carb and approximately 140 calories each.


*These sachets also come with lactose free versions which are perfect for those who cannot consume dairy! 

Cambridge bars are available in two great textures: chewy or crunchy.Crunchy options include: Chocolate Mint, Cranberry, Peanut and chewy options include Chocolate, Malt Toffee or Chocolate Orange. There is also a yogurt-covered option is also available in Lemon flavour.

For Smoothies, they offer rich yogurt-based smoothies in two flavours Cherry & Strawberry and Blackcurrant & Apple.

If you are someone who prefers a meal rather than a liquid diet, Cambridge offers low carb meals that include Spaghetti Bolognese, Mushroom Risotto, Mac and Cheese, and Chicken Tikka Rice.

For their porridge, flavours that are available are Apple and Cinnamon, Maple and Pecan, Original.

We all know how busy we can get in Hong Kong so for those grab-on-the-go meals try theor ready-made shakes which come in handy cartons making them ideal for busy people on the go. These are available in Chocolate Blueberry and Pomegranate Yogurt.

Cambridge also offers bonus bars, which is a blend of tropical flavours filled with fruity pieces and covered in a satisfyingly tasty yogurt coating, and Mix-a-Mousse & water flavouring which transforms your favourite shake into a delicious mousse for dessert.

On the plan you are also instructed to drink 2.5 litres of water a day and to stay away from all soft drinks, alcohol and sugars to ensure maximum weight loss.

The first week of the plan was the hardest, particularly because my body wasn’t use to this state. The shakes however tasted extremely yummy (especially the Chocolate Mint which was my favourite!) and kept me full and energised throughout the day. The sachets were super easy to make and I no longer had to think about what I had to eat for my next meal! Tip: When making the shakes blend it with ice – they taste so refreshing! After the first week I had lost 1.3kg already and in the 3 weeks total I had lost approximately 3kg (taken into account I did have one or two cheat meals!)

If you are looking to shed a few pounds quickly and relatively easily, or even just to kick start your healthy regime, then I recommend giving the Cambridge Weight Plan a shot! I’m definitely going to continue my low carb lifestyle and can’t wait to see more results as they come!
