Sanderson is a luxury five star boutique hotel located in the heart of central London. Ideal for weekend staycations or business travellers, the hotel offers a retreat from the bustle of the city into a world of fantasy and well-being.

The landmarked 1950s building has been transformed by Philippe Starck into a surreal Cocteau-like dream world. The rooms are all newly renovated and concepted by designer Tim Andreas of Banjo. Each of  the rooms maintains a sense of whimsy while offering state of the art details and luxurious touches at every turn.

The superior room I stayed in was very spacious. It featured Egyptian cotton sheets on a king size bed, a walk in shower and bathtub with MALIN+GOETZ products, work desk, complimentary wifi, flat screen HDTV with over 80 channels, 24-hour room service, in room spa services and access to the hotel’s gym and valet parking.

Sanderson is also home to the Agua spa, a renowned temple of body and soul. The spa offers a variety of treatments, ensuring you are pampered and relaxing for the duration of your stay.

Guests can also dine al fresco year round at Courtyard Garden, and their Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea is on the “must-do” lists of London’s elite. To wind down in the evening, Sanderson’s Purple Bar which is draped with silk purple curtains offers an extensive cocktail and drink list, and their Billiard Room offers a more upbeat vibe.

The hotel is just a quick walk away from Oxford Circus Underground Station and Sanderson also offers complimentary bicycle hire.

Overall, I had a lovely stay at Sanderson. Its quirkiness and elegance makes it different from other hotels and the convenient location makes it a definite recommendation to anyone travelling to London.
