GONE SAILING

I’m currently writing this piece fresh from a four week unforgettable voyage from Monfalcone, Italy to Kornati, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, ending in Lefkada, Greece. Boat trips and cruise journeys can be lots of fun, but this was my first long-haul sailing journey, and I’ve never had a better time! The biggest perk about sailing is the freedom: weather permitting, you go wherever you want, whenever you want, and it’s an extremely empowering and liberating feeling that I’ve never experienced before when traveling. Including me, the crew was a small group of two, sailing a 55 foot Hallberg-Rassy. It’s essentially a floating...

AMANKILA

AMANKILA (link) (instagram) My latest escape has taken me to Bali, where I got to relax at the closest thing to paradise – Amankila resort in Manggis, Bali just off the east coast of the archipelago. Amankila means ‘peaceful hill’, which describes the resort in the most minimal way. Built in March 1992 by architect Ed Tuttle, the resort was inspired by the palaces of Ujung and Tirtagangga. Each suite is built like a beach house and is connected with pathways, each suite elevated on stilts to maximize sea views. It overlooks the Lombok Strait and everywhere you turn is a picturesque moment. The resort is a perfect mix of modern...

AMANKORA

AMANKORA (link) (instagram) This is one of the most exciting trips I’ve been on that I’ve been anticipating the most because I finally got the chance to visit Bhutan! Make sure you get your visa first before booking your flight since there are different fees, for example, there is a minimum spend each day per visitor, or if you’re traveling by car, certain permits are required to go through certain areas. Because I stayed at AMANKORA, the...
