A Diamond In The Rough

I was recently invited by pentahotel to try their newly launched “break-cation”.  A staycation during one of the craziest months in the fashion calendar?  Yes please!  But it’s in the San Po Kong/Diamond Hill area…hmmm…I was intrigued. Pentahotel describes itself as the “un-hotel”.  After I was dropped off by Uber, I could see why they have coined this term.  Upon arrival, the hotel signage mimics an old cinema, and there is an open pizza oven with a casual dining area.  All the  friendly staff wear jeans. Make Some Noise…

I already showcase local fashion designers at THE REFINERY so am happy to be supporting local Hong Kong designers at Design Market PMQ. I was recently invited to be an ambassador for Design Market and to style outfits to help promote local fashion designers. A sneak pic from behind the curtain before the pandas were revealed to the media… How fitting that I’m wearing a black and white tunic by Marios at the 1600 Pandas opening ceremony… To celebrate the 1600 Pandas, the shops at PMQ were invited t...

Styling Musings

I was recently asked “how do you style?” by a fashion student. This simple question made me think about what I do and my creative process, and also made me reflect on what styling means in the age of social media and digital fashion. Let me start by saying there is no right or wrong when it comes to putting together creative work…everyone has a different method. For me, creativity comes naturally but a big part of it is also working with other experienced and creative people to learn and develop ideas. Having my own brand has been the best learning experience, not just in terms of learning how to run a business, designing and ...
