Where to nest in the heart of Soho

I love Soho. As a Londoner, Soho is so much fun and never too much. Every other week there are new cafes and restaurants popping up, every weekend there are parties and the area never sleeps. On a recent visit, I had to chance to stay at The Nadler Soho. I’ve walked pass it many times when I was living around the area but never had a chance to visit. Here I am, at the back of a small alley in the heart of Soho. I know the aree by hand, so for me, navigation was not an issue at all. The Nadler Soho doesn’t have a restaurant unlike many other hotels nearby, but being in the heart of Soho, you literally have everything on your foo...

Quintessentially British Afternoon tea under the Chandeliers

One of my favourite places in London, be it for breakfast meeting, taking visiting friends and family, a nightcap or a date night at the bar, Bernes Tavern in the London Edition has a special place in my heart. Inspired by the classic muted colours of Johannes Vermeer paintings and American artist Donald Judd, Berners Tavern has taupe coloured walls, dusty rose chairs, and a subtle play between modern and period detail. Tub chairs in the front of the space create a café-like setting, while banquettes in chestnut mohair and taupe leather and round, rift cut bleached oak tables define the central dining area. Two large custom bro...

A Cotswold hideout

This summer in Europe has been amazing. In England, it was one of the best in the past decade. Instead of fleeing to the normal summer islands for a bit of sun, I decided to stay in the country and hide in the countryside. Realizing I have never really explored the English countryside, I picked a place I’ve never been. Without a clue how it looks like and how to get there, I picked Ellenborough Park. My previous experience at Coworth Park gave me a very positive image of how beautiful and calming Cotswold is, so I knew it would be beautiful and peaceful.  After a little research and lots of questions, my friend and I arrived a...

A peaceful break – Coworth Park

It is no secret that Coworth Park, part of the Dorchester Collection, is one of the most popular places in England for a little luxurious getaway. It is luxurious in many senses. A late 18th-century country house hotel on the borders of Windsor Great Park is high-end style without the stuffiness, with a picturesque 240-acre private estate that offers you moments of peace and tranquillity. Being part of the Dorchester Collection implies the level of quality is higher than you can imagine. The friendliness of the staff, their helpfulness, the service, attention to detail, and everything in the park is just impeccable. Once the hom...

Parisian Left Bank Style

Paris is always a good idea, especially outside fashion week. Earlier this month I headed over to Paris for a few days, and decided to stay at Le Cinq Codet on the left bank for a change. I’ve always stayed in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd arr. in Paris for work, this is my second time staying on the left bank. Part of the Design Hotel portfolio, Le Cinq Codet is slightly tucked in a small street just off a main road. In the heart of the prestigious 7th arrondissement,  with only 4 mins walk from the closest metro station, and close to Rodin Museum, and the Eiffel Tower, it is every inch a quiet little oasis surrounded by many cafes, re...
