A weekend hideaway on the seaside of Palma de Mallorca

Summer season has recently started in Europe (FINALLY! ), and lots of Europeans are fleeing to their favourite nearby islands for a mini weekend or a long-awaited vacation. Earlier this month, I went to Palma de Mallorca for a mini getaway. As one of the biggest of the Balearic Islands in Spain, it offers a variety of activities for all sorts of people- family, singles, couples, small children etc. If you want to party, there are lots of options, if you want a romantic getaway, there are plenty of beautiful spots, if you want a quite detox or relaxing vacation, there are multiple locations. I wanted a bit a both- a little sig...

Pool side chill in Ibiza- OD Talamanca

I know I know, being in Ibiza is supposed to be on the beach and everywhere near the sea. BUT when I was taken to OD Talamanca, I decided that this poolside is good enough for me to relax and just chill for an entire morning. Just look at the pool side, under the blue sky and sun at 31C, how can I not just do nothing but dip in the water from time to time and work on my sun tan? (which I got a very honey sun-kissed tan by the way) Adding to other 3 OD hotels, newly opened earlier this year, OD Talamanca situates at one of the finest locations on the island. The unique retro-glamour style hotel has breathtaking views of both Tala...

Prime Bilbao experience at The Miró Hotel

Earlier I took a holiday to Northern Spain with my best friends, and made a visit to Bilbao. I have heard so much about the city but never been. So we stayed at the Miró hotel for 2 nights, which is just across the road of where the world famous Guggenheim Museum locates. About 20 mins from the airport by car, 8 mins from the bus terminal, the hotel is close to almost everything in the city. As one of the Design Hotels, I was expecting the hotel to be very stylish and chic, and it did not disappoint me. With a revamp project of the entire Bilbao city 3 years after Guggenheim Museum was opened, and inspired by the New York conce...

The Conservatorium Hotel- A museum in the Museum District, Amsterdam

Everyone loves a good hotel, and we love it better when the hotel is more than great. Recently I revisited Amsterdam and stayed at The Conservatorium Hotel , part of the Set Hotels, for the first time. I fell in love with this place as soon as I walked in.  Located in Museum Square, the luxury centre and cultural heart of the city, the Conservatorium is an architectural masterpiece that combines a landmark heritage building with a graceful, contemporary design, offering guests a selection of restaurants, a bar, Lounge and a 1,000 sq m Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Facility. The building dates all the way back to end of 19th centur...

Lisbon’s Hidden Gem- Memmo Alfama

I visited Lisbon at a very good time. 10 years ago when I went, it was cold and rainy, I could barely remember what I managed to see. Few weeks ago, blue sky and sun is high, I had the pleasure to rediscover the charm of this old city. During my short visit I stayed at the Memmo Alfama hotel, a member of Design Hotels. It is steps away from the Cathedral and the São Jorge Castle,  as one of the best hotels in Lisbon and is the first boutique hotel in the city’s historic area, I thought it would be difficult to find along the meandering uphill roads, yet almost every cab drivers in Lisbon seems to know exactly where it is. Hi...
