It is no secret that Ibiza has long been a favourite island for Europeans. Celebrities in particular love spending holidays there year after year. As much as it is known for its party, Ibiza also has a reputation of the hot spot for yoga retreats, connecting to nature and detoxing.

Summer season is peak for islands like Ibiza, and how do one get into the scene without waiting for hours at airports, countless delays, having no luck hailing taxis and just ending up at KFCs or room services ? If you are only planning to go to Ibiza once in your life, here are some tips on how you can do it like celebrity.

1. If you want to splurge, book yourself a seat on the newly launched all-you-can-fly Surf Air privet jet. Paying a monthly membership fee gives you access to flights that you can book within 30 seconds.  Read more about Surf Air here

2. No visit is complete without hitting one of the most famous clubs in Ibiza, where frequent celebrities, reality TV stars and party insiders can be seen. Galway Girl singer Ed Sheeran was seen there last year. Located on the West coast of Ibiza in San Antonio, Ocean Beach Ibiza is where you can have a perfect pool party. You are not obliged to eat or drink or book a sun bed; or you can do all of the above. Food is great there, sushi platters, proper substantial dishes, dessert etc – have it at the restaurant by the pool side of on one of your VIP beds or sofas. Special cocktails are mixed with premium alcohol and they do cool you down in the sun. You can spend an hour or 12 hours there, all depending on how you feel and how much you want to spend. Hit up the dance floor in front of the DJ booth, or dance in the pool among other party-goers. Don’t forget to check out the Oceanmania water park outside the club too – that is, if you are up for a challenge.

3.Another hot spot for the cool crowd is STK Ibiza, Eva Longoria, Paris Hilton and Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini are on the list of many celebrities who visited. The sexy steakhouse is known for its mouth-watering food, and the live entertainment that goes on throughout the night. Sing and dance along as you wish while enjoying their mini sliders, mac and cheese, juicy steak and cocktails. Emerge yourself in the whole STK experience as you dance the night away…and forget about time. Despite my second visit, I was still very looking forward to dining there prior to arrival.

4. If you prefer somewhere less energetic and with a more chilled vibe, hit up Destino. Part of Pacha group, the beautifully designed resort has an outdoor terrace where you can dine with the most dreamy backdrop of Ibiza’s old castle and the moon. This non-pretentious open-air restaurant serves gastronomic tapas with Mediterranean essence and Asian and Central American touches. There is also the surprise element of Flamenco dances and singing performances. If it gets you into a party mood, you may also want to check out Lio or Pacha club afterwards which is not far from Destino. David Guetta is returning for his residency at Pacha every Thursday this summer. On the Friday night I visited Pacha, it was Hot Since 82 and his night Labyrinth that turned the club into a dreamland.

5. In case you are in need of a very relaxing afternoon and some massage, I do recommend the Revival Spa by Clarins at Aguas de Ibiza Hotel on the other side of the island. A bit further away from everything else, this is the perfect spot for you to wind down, or simply enjoy some serene quietness. Tapas and healthy food choices are served at the colourful pool-side terrace restaurant. Spa at the basement offers a selection of therapies and few indoor pools with different temperature to chill.  Even just to admire the interior design of the hotel can make you forget being on the party island that never stops for a moment.

6. If you are not much of a party person, Ibiza is also known for retreats, and a lot of celebrities like Mille Mackintosh do that. There are multiple companies run yoga/fitness/active packages on the island at different prices, ranging from affordable to bespoke tailored packages. To get an idea of how it can be- a good place to start looking is YogaFit Retreat, starting from £350 all-inclusive 3 days retreat (excluding tickets and your own expenses), you have a choice of more than 30 classes from Yoga to energy healing in a day while you are soaking in the warm Spanish sun and enjoying the Mediterranean sea breeze. Another place to look for something different like hiking or exploring hidden gems of Ibiza is Active Ibiza. There you can have an option to take up few hours activities of your choice and some treatments like acupuncture.

7. On an island like Ibiza, it can be as chilled as you want, or pack your schedule as much as you wish. So when you want to do a bit of everything and make the most of your time there, pick a hotel like Playasol New Algarb that is well located, with an outdoor pool and sits on the long sandy beach. Close to most of the buzzing night life scene of Ibiza, big clubs such as newly opened  (where Black Coffee was performing on the night I visited) and Ushuaïa are within 10 mins walking distance. Hungry at 3 in the morning? the KFC and Burger King round the corner comes in handy.

Ibiza can be very expensive, but you can also do it on a budget. My last and most important tip? Make reservations as early as you can if you want to go to any of these places- they are meant to be very in demand and in Spain, everybody dines late, so don’t expect you can go for the second seating because there won’t be one until 1am! And don’t be surprised if you run in A-listers like Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, Shakira, Christiano Ronaldo, Kate Hudson, Leonardo Di Caprio…..
