I love Bali but I had an overdose of Semiyak this year, but I just couldn’t get enough of Indonesia sun! 25 mins flight from Denpasar, we arrived Lombok. Theres something about Lombok that is immensely charming , maybe its the ever-so-sunny weather, or more so that humble wholesome vibes that Bali has been missing.
Tugu hotel is 100% Indonesian-retro-luxe (in fashion lingual), there’s so much culture to explore in this place, it almost feels like a living museum. Owner of the national hotel chain is a former lawyer, the Tugu Group also runs 7 restaurants in Jarkata.

Our beach front pool villa is literally 50 steps away from exclusive white sand beach, with the most spacious outdoor bathroom I have ever seen, theres a bathtub made out of a giant rock, surrounded by bamboo shade and a fish pond outside. Hotel lobby was revived from a 250 years old architecture, and the bar was a 150 years old temple, Tugu has an eccentric touch, its historic, modern, culture, raw and lux.
If you are into pretty sky and romantic vibes (who doesn’t?!) sunrise breakfast on a boat is a must-do. Waking up at 5:30am wasn’t exactly easy but it was mind-blowing, and they serve yummy continental breakfast with that vanilla scented Java black tea I could never get enough of.
Afternoon spa time followed by bon fire dinner on the beach, with a bright moon lighting up the s, it was definitely romantic novel material with yummy colourful Indonesian food.
