Art Central graced HK again last week during the art fair. It brought a different vibes to HK as it offered a diversity of Asian artists and also international galleries. I noticed this year there were lots of fun activities for different demographics such as art workshops with The Sovereign Art Foundation and Thai artist Navin Rawanchikul for all ages of children. The street food at Art Central was mega yummy and to top it up MUMM champagne bar with exclusive limited edition Champagne bottles. The striking interactive art installation by Elaine Yan Ling Ng x SWAROVSKI as soon as you enter the fair.
What caught my eyes this year was the beautiful yet fun sculptures by Karl-Heinz Ströhle for OPERA Gallery. 4 massive moving Wireframe Sculptures made by 2cm band steel and when you touched it the whole sculpture moved lively. I also had the pleasure of meeting the artist himself. Check out my Instagram @gracelamf1 for the video!
Another artist I admire was Young Wook Han for Galerie Bhak. Young used oil on aluminum by scratching his painting. Young painted mostly people and the details of the work is amazing. One needs to have massive patience and intense concentration to achieve what the artist did. Respect!
I enjoy art when one can interact with the art piece and I look foward to next year Art Central to bring more interesting art to HK.
